Sensory storytime is an interactive and educational program that can be enjoyed by all children, but is especially designed for children with sensory integration challenges. It combines books, songs, movement, and therapeutic activities to stimulate all five senses and promote learning. If your child has difficulty sitting through one of the library's other storytimes, this inclusive program of stories, songs and activities may be just what you are looking for! Any child ages 1 to 7 may attend with a parent/caregiver. Registration is required. Celebrate the holidays with this timeless classic by Louisa May Alcott.  We will host a marathon of all things Little Women--films, trivia, refreshments, and several special drawings.  We will have a grand prize drawing for four movie tickets to see the new version, coming to theaters Christmas Day 2019.  We will show four adaptations of the story, starting at approximately 10:15 a.m., 12:15 p.m., 2:15 p.m., and 4:15 p.m.  This is a free program open to all ages.  Stay for one or stay for all.

Childrengiving.org presents "Introduction to JavaScript" for students in 4th -8th grade. This class is recommended for students with little or no experience with JavaScript. The Peninsula Peace and Justice Center  of Palo Alto presents a screening of the documentary "A Concerned  Citizen" and will lead a discussion following the film.

From the film description:

"A CONCERNED CITIZEN" documents the work of Dr. Riki Ott, a citizen activist who predicted the Exxon Valdez oil spill hours before it happened and came to the aid of her Alaskan community in their battle to get fair compensation for their loss of health and income.

More recently Riki, a toxicologist, author, and activist, has been organizing the Gulf coast communities as they struggle to recover from the BP Deepwater Horizon disaster. Taking the lessons she learned as an activist, she is also spearheading the campaign called Ultimate Civics, a complete civics curriculum she developed that empowers students to participate in their democracy. Recognizing the power of money in politics she advocates for a constitutional amendment to end corporate personhood, and to reform campaign finance laws. She lectures nationally and internationally, inspiring students from fifth grade through universities and adults to take action and showing by example how one person can make a difference."
