Climate Change Book Club at Campbell Library

6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
Campbell Library
Community Room - Lower Level

At our first meeting of The Climate Change Book Club we will discuss Dire Predictions: Understanding Climate Change, The Visual Guide to the Findings of the IPCC, 2nd Edition, by Michael E. Mann and Lee R. Kump.

Follow your interests as you read, making note of questions and ideas that emerge, which we will explore during our discussion.  Bring a friend! Spread the word.

From the introduction:

“Perhaps no topic in modern public discourse is so important – yet so poorly understood as human-caused climate change. Our planet continues to warm, and a vast array of changes in Earth’s climate are taking place as we continue to elevate the levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere through fossil fuel burning and other activities. If we continue on this course, we imperil our food and water supplies, the stability of our coastlines, the strength of our economy, our national security, and the health of our global environment. There is still time to avert catastrophic climate change, but the window of opportunity is beginning to close.”
