A Million Thanks 12/1/2012 12:00:00 AM
A Million Thanks
Express your appreciation for our troops by writing them a letter or even drawing a picture. Participating libraries will be collecting these messages of gratitude and support, and will forward them on to an active duty serviceperson or veteran. Take a few moments to say thank you for their service and sacrifice! We’ll make sure your messages get sent to our troops, whether they are serving at home, abroad, or are recovering in a military hospital. Check with your library for more details.

Mayor Chang’s Teen Challenge – Solve the Streets

Contest Entry Deadline: Sunday, January 17

This is less about a program set for a specific date than it is a challenge offered by Mayor Chang to local teenagers.

Traffic throughout the Silicon Valley grows more congested every day. With a steady influx of new residents, commuters, and students, the streets and highways are clogged with traffic.  Mayor Barry Chang challenges all teens ages  13 — 19 to take on the role of a policy maker and:  A) Analyze issues with the current Silicon Valley traffic situation.  B) Research effective ways to improve Silicon Valley traffic.  C) Create a 5 - 10 minute video proposing an innovative yet realistic solution that can improve transportation in the Silicon Valley.  For additional details and registration, please visit the Cupertino Library Foundation’s official contest homepage: http://goo.gl/mKaDWn
